New Year’s Eve shows attract millions to the television

Even on New Year’s Eve, many people have their television on. What was viewed particularly frequently?

The New Year’s Eve show on ZDF with Andrea Kiewel and Johannes B. Kerner achieved the best ratings. 3.11 million people (market share 15.9 percent) tuned in to the live broadcast “Welcome 2024” at the Brandenburg Gate from 8:15 p.m. At the same time, Erste had 2.37 million viewers (12.0 percent) with its New Year’s Eve show at the end of the year in prime time.

At ProSieben entertainers Joko Winterscheidt and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf had to reinterpret the classic “Dinner for one” in “New Year’s Eve for One”. 780,000 people (4.1 percent) wanted to see the sketch at the end of the year.

On RTL, “The Ultimate Chart Show – The Most Successful New Year’s Eve Party Hits” had 1.56 million viewers (7.9 percent). There was also music on Vox on the last evening of the year: 480,000 viewers (2.4 percent) wanted to puzzle along in front of the television on the quiz show “Die Hitwisser”.

“Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge,” the fifth part of the fantasy adventure comedy “Pirates of the Caribbean,” was shown on Sat.1. 820,000 people (4.2 percent) took this into their homes. On the last evening of the year, RTLzwei attracted 510,000 viewers (2.6 percent) to the television with the animated adventure film “Ice Age”. 830,000 people (4.2 percent) watched the action thriller “Tango & Cash” on Kabel Eins.
