The controversial World Cup in Qatar offered alternatives in the TV program many good opportunities. On Thursday evening, however, the “Bergdoktor” had bad cards against Germany’s last game.

“Der Bergdoktor” clearly lost to the German national team’s last game at the World Cup on Thursday evening. Just 3.61 million (11.0 percent) tuned in to the ZDF home series with Hans Sigl, Monika Baumgartner and Ronja Forcher. In contrast, the World Cup match between Germany and Costa Rica reached 17.43 million viewers (53.7 percent). However, the 4:2 in the last group game was not enough for the German team in the Al-Bait Stadium to advance to the knockout stage.

Vox broadcast the American feature film “War of the Worlds” with Tom Cruise, Dakota Fanning and Tim Robbins, which 700,000 science fiction fans (2.2 percent) wanted to see. The RTL entertainment program “Unforgotten – The secrets behind the most iconic RTL moments” attracted 680,000 visitors (2.1 percent).

570,000 people (1.8 percent) wanted to see the Kabel Eins ranking show “Germany’s biggest secrets”. The Sat.1 docu-soap “112 Notruf Deutschland” got 530,000 people (1.6 percent) into the house. The ProSieben series “Incredible! Spectacular moments in front of the camera” attracted 490,000 reality fans (1.7 percent). 380,000 men and women (1.2 percent) watched the RTLzwei report “Hard Germany – Life in Focus”. The US crime series “Monk” with Tony Shalhoub and Bitty Schram had 310,000 viewers (0.9 percent).
