But what is the ideal pace? The TÜV recommends: The most economical way is to accelerate boldly, shift into the highest gear as quickly as possible and maintain a speed of between 60 and 90 km/h. On the Autobahn, TÜV recommends a constant speed of 100 to 130 km/h in the highest possible gear. In general, a speed of 70 to 80 percent of the maximum speed is recommended. The 130 km/h should not be exceeded here either.
