Tutankhamun: What is the truth about the supposed curse of the pharaoh?

Shortly after Tutankhamen’s tomb was opened, a series of seemingly mysterious deaths began. Over the years, 20 people are said to have fallen victim to the pharaoh’s curse. About supposedly mysterious powers and pipe dreams.

When Lord Carnarvon died on April 5, 1923, world opinion was electrified. Just months earlier, the British aristocrat was one of the first to enter the tomb of the ancient Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun, along with his daughter Lady Evelyn and archaeologist Howard Carter. For years Carnarvon had financed the excavations of Carter, who finally came across the hitherto undiscovered tomb in November 1922 in the Valley of the Kings. Rich in immeasurable treasures and largely unscathed, it had survived the ages; no one had set foot in the subterranean chambers for more than three millennia.
