Enes Kara is in no hurry to say his last words. His voice is calm. “I don’t want this video to be hidden, so I’m sharing what I’m feeling with you,” he says to the camera. A 20-year-old boy, good-looking, he seems a bit sleepy. His situation, says Kara, is that of many young people in Turkey. “I know that religion forbids it, but I don’t want to continue my life. What I ask of my family: Treat my sisters more tolerantly than me and don’t force them to attend an Islamic school.”
