The German foreign minister has just warned the Turkish president in the tone that has become her trademark. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan can be sure of NATO’s solidarity in the fight against terror, according to value soprano Annalena Baerbock. But simply breaking international law by sending troops to the border areas of neighboring Iraq and Syria is really not possible. The fight against terror serves to protect civilians. Driving “the spiral of violence” is not the point of the matter.
