Tuning motorhome – the Happy Camper has 900 PS under the hood

The Happy Camper is a motorhome from a Fast & Furious universe. The tuning company Ringbrothers needed a vehicle with which they could be seen at car races as befits their standing. A typical yoghurt cup with walnut foil in the interior was of course not possible. So they offered all their skills and style. As a basis they chose a Winnebago Bravo from 1972. A vehicle that can be called the cult mother of all motorhomes. Unmistakable thanks to the grille that jumps forward and the offset vertical front windows.

They planted this icon of US car culture Ringbrothers a matching heart. They chose a V8 engine from Wegner Motorsports. The charged LS 408 delivers up to 900 hp – the gearbox, brakes and rear axles had to be adjusted accordingly.

From the outside, the camper remained untouched except for small details. In particular, the well-known lettering with the “W” from Winnebago should be retained. Only a few additional features had to be there. At the front there is now a motorcycle rack, big enough for a mini bike like a Honda Monkey. At the rear, space had to be created for a grill equipment. Inside, the Ringbrothers did not impose any restrictions. Presumably the original interior structure from 1972 was no longer usable. Bed, shower, kitchen, partition walls – everything had to go.

The engine block, which lies between the driver and front passenger, was given a transparent cover. Leather covers, a lot of aluminum painted in mint green, armchairs covered with leather and a huge TV screen transformed the camper into the ultimate mobile man cave.

The Ringbrothers specialize in building lightweight aluminum parts. All cladding elements therefore had to give way. As in an old airplane, you can now see the filigree aluminum construction of the Winnebago.

The overall concept is intended to be a mixture of the interior of a World War II bomber and a 50-year-old Tiki-style beach bar. However, the Happy Camper is no longer suitable for family vacations.
