When the unsuspecting person thinks of the Technical University of Munich (TUM), they see in their mind’s eye cohorts of math nerds and people with all sorts of talents having mega careers in business. The artist types tend to study a few hundred meters away as the crow flies, at the academy at the front or over at the film or music universities. And yet it is TUM that now has a director. His name: Felix Mayer. His profession: conductor, musician and honorary professor at the same TU. His field of activity: the university’s newly founded Center for Culture and Arts (CCA).
