At TSV 1860 Munich it’s like a rollercoaster again. The season started with two wins – but then followed: four defeats in a row. Most recently, the third division team lost a 1-0 lead twice. An up and all the way down again. The lion fan knows this, but it’s not as fun as a ride on the amusement ride.
The mood could have been better when the players entered the hacker tent on Tuesday evening for the traditional Oktoberfest visit.
Phillipp Steinhart actually looks a little confused as he sits down with Ms. Ann-Christin and takes a sip of beer. The defender can’t really do anything about the defeats, he’s currently out injured.
But the botched games are quickly forgotten. Goalkeeper Marco Hiller soon grins broadly like a Champions League winner.
Players who joined TSV 1860 for the season were previously dressed in a large traditional costume shop on Landsberger Straße. The traditional hat looks good on striker Joël Zwarts.

Last week, coach Maurizio Jacobacci, who posed with his partner Ilona Hug under the Bayern sky, tried to motivate the players and said: “Maybe there will be another Oktoberfest evening for the team.” He called the condition for this: victories. So far it looks like Tuesday’s visit will be a one-off event.
Former Lions attacker Stefan Lex now plays for his hometown club FC Eitting. He will also be attending the Oktoberfest visit with the team this year. He will remain with the club after his career ends, but it is not yet known exactly what role he will play.
TSV 1860 Munich even has its own Oktoberfest home jersey. But the players can only wear that on September 30th when they play in the Grünwalder Stadium against Verl, first they go to Halle on Saturday. They’re all hoping for a win, including Verena Dietl, third mayor and lion fan for decades, who sat next to Jesper Verlaat.
The pretzels go well when visiting the festival tent, but people don’t drink too much beer. Then the players set off again. Will some people take another ride on the rollercoaster?
