The family’s lawyers had tried to take action against this decision and to stop the investigation – so far unsuccessfully. James’ extensive civil investigations include suspicions that Trump’s company misrepresented the value of its real estate in order to obtain credit or price advantages. Trump has previously described the investigation as a “witch hunt” and accused Democrat James of being politically motivated. Ivana Trump, who was married to Donald Trump between 1977 and 1992 and had son Eric with him alongside Ivanka and Donald Junior, died on Thursday at the age of 73. The background to the death was initially unclear. Dozens of onlookers and journalists gathered on Friday in front of the house on the posh Upper East Side in Manhattan, where Ivana Trump had lived until the end. There was a bouquet of pink flowers in front of the front door.
