On the other hand, you yourself are a tourist attraction. There are people on every bridge taking photos of the group. Which is nice when you’re paddling smoothly through a straight channel. And it becomes embarrassing as soon as you try to steer around the corner of a house. Since we will be going out into the lagoon later, we have sea-worthy kayaks – too long for any elegant turning, at least for the inexperienced.
But whatever. We are happily seated close to the water, which is surprisingly clean. Small crabs climb up the house walls, you see fish scurrying past and later, while driving through the lagoon, you even survive an approaching storm. And the night after you live through the day again: everything fluctuates.
