“Virgil Was Here” – under this motto, Louis Vuitton is paying tribute to the late designer Virgil Abloh with a fashion show. The rappers Kid Cudi and Offset, among others, walk the catwalk as models.

Two days after the death of designer Virgil Abloh, the French fashion group Louis Vuitton hosted a fashion show in the US state of Florida in honor of the fashion designer.

The event entitled “Virgil Was Here” (in German: Virgil was here) ran on Tuesday evening (local time) in Miami. Louis Vuitton announced in advance on Twitter that they wanted to present the collection designed by Abloh for spring / summer 2022 and thus honor the “creative genius”.

The show with dozens of models on an open-air catwalk was highlighted at the beginning and at the end with words from Abloh. The fashion designer spoke, among other things, of how he wanted to use his art and creativity to get adults to behave like children and feel astonishment.

Celebrities, friends and colleagues around the world reacted with dismay to the death news. The designer and creative director of the men’s line at Louis Vuitton died of cancer on Sunday at the age of only 41.

Numerous stars paid tribute to Abloh at the fashion show. Kim Kardashian West, Kanye West, Pharrell Williams and Bella Hadid were among the guests, as “TMZ.com” and other US media reported. The rappers Kid Cudi, Offset and Quavo ran as models at the show.
