“Passages” premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was also screened at the Berlinale this year. There the drama with Franz Rogowski became a minor hit with the public.

The German actor Franz Rogowski is the focus of this relationship drama by Ira Sachs. The story is about a toxic love triangle. Rogowski (37) plays Tomas, a Paris-based filmmaker. He is married to graphic artist Martin (Ben Whishaw) but breaks out of the relationship to begin an affair with elementary school teacher Agathe (Adèle Exarchopoulos, “Blue is a Warm Color”).

As a result, there are all sorts of complications, and Tomas’ character, which is as engaging as it is manipulative, slowly unfolds. Presented by streaming service Mubi, the drama takes a realistic and intimate look at the chaos of human relationships.

The three outstanding main actors do the rest so that the viewer quickly feels right in the middle of it all.
