The convicted two-time police murderer from Kusel was back in court on Tuesday. This time it was about, among other things, hunting poaching.

The Saarbrücken regional court has stopped another trial against the convicted police murderer from Kusel. The 40-year-old had to appear in an appeal hearing, among other things responsible for hunting poaching. After an interim consultation by the chamber, the proceedings were discontinued by the court at the request of the public prosecutor. According to the presiding judge, both an acquittal and a conviction would not have changed the verdict of the Kaiserslautern regional court and were irrelevant to the sentence.

At the start of the trial, the defendant described the allegations as “stupid and lies”. He was accused of shooting a deer near Spiesen-Elversberg, northeast of Saarbrücken, in September 2017 without a hunting license. According to the prosecution, he was observed by a witness. When he got in the way of the defendant’s vehicle on a dirt road, the suspected poacher drove towards him. The witness said he was only able to save himself by jumping to the side.

The verdict against Andreas S. for the murder of two young police officers has been final since the summer of 2023. The Kaiserslautern regional court sentenced the man to life imprisonment in November 2022 and determined the particular gravity of the guilt. This means that early release after 15 years is practically impossible.

On January 31, 2022, the Saarlander shot a 24-year-old police candidate and a 29-year-old police inspector during their night patrol in Kusel in order to cover up his commercial poaching. The police had previously discovered more than 20 poached deer and deer in the back of his van.
