A man who is said to have killed his 100-year-old grandmother with an ax has been in court since Thursday Hamburg is responsible. “He was overwhelmed with the care,” said the representative of the public prosecutor’s office when the charges were read out.

He attacked the demented woman in a wheelchair on the night of March 6th in her apartment in Hamburg’s Stellingen district with an ax and hit her head and neck area at least 16 times. The German, who was born in Estonia, has to answer for manslaughter.

According to the police, the defendant, who had no criminal record, called 911 that morning and explained that he had killed his grandmother. The officers found the lifeless woman in the apartment. The man allowed himself to be arrested at the crime scene without resistance.

The defense attorney announced that the defendant would make a statement on Monday. However, she will request that the public be excluded. Because it will be about the defendant’s psychological state at the time of the crime. The judges must then decide on this application.
