A doctor is accused of secretly filming patients and employees in his practice. He makes a confession in court.

A doctor from Lower Franconia has confessed to secretly filming patients and employees in the toilet or during treatments in his practice. “I am deeply ashamed of it,” the orthopedic surgeon explained to his defense attorney in the Schweinfurt district court. He apologizes to the women, said one of his two lawyers.

The 59-year-old’s defense initially did not comment on the prosecutor’s allegations that some women had been sexually abused and even raped one. The indictment assumes a total of eight victims and a crime period from 2016/2017 to 2020.

Among other things, the doctor is said to have massaged the breasts of patients during examinations, although there was no medical reason for this. He is said to have filmed two women employed in his practice with a hidden camera in the staff toilet.

The orthopedist may continue to practice, but for the time being he is not allowed to treat women. A further four days of negotiations are scheduled for the trial until the beginning of May.
