The case caused horror far beyond Starnberg: A 21-year-old was suspected of having shot his parents first and then himself in mid-January 2020. However, there were soon doubts about this version. Two weeks after the three bodies were found in a single-family house in a quiet residential area in the north of Starnberg, things turned around: the investigators arrested two young men. The older of the two, a friend of the 21-year-old victim, made a confession.
From this Monday on, Maximilian B., 21, from Olching and Samuel V., 20, from Starnberg will have to answer to the Munich II district court for murder and for two armed robberies on supermarkets in the Fürstenfeldbruck district. Since the two are still adolescents, the trial takes place in front of the 1st youth chamber.
According to the prosecution, Maximilian B. killed his friend and his parents because he was after a valuable arsenal of weapons belonging to the 21-year-old. It was located in the property where the alleged crime took place. Maximilian B., according to the public prosecutor, had planned to sell the weapons at a profit. The Olchinger is said to have been in financial difficulties at the time of the alleged act.
The arsenal of his victim contained numerous large-caliber pistols and even weapons of war – such as a Wehrmacht submachine gun, a Kalashnikov assault rifle and a machine gun. It was reported that the weapons were all fully functional. Among them was another submachine gun that the killed man is said to have built himself. The 21-year-old completed an apprenticeship as a gunsmith. The defendant Maximilian B. and his victim are said to have had a weakness for weapons, especially war weapons, which they wanted to make functional again.
According to the investigations, Maximilian B. had already made the firm decision to kill his friend in order to get to his weapons before he drove to Starnberg on the evening of January 10th. Because the Olchinger had neither a driver’s license nor a car, he is said to have brought his alleged accomplice, the co-defendant Samuel V., to drive him to Starnberg. Samuel V is said to have known from the start that Maximilan B. wanted to kill the 21-year-old.
In the late evening hours of that January 10th, the two young men set off. Maximilian B. is said to have armed himself with a self-loading pistol before starting the journey. After arriving in Starnberg, the two are said to have agreed that Samuel V. would pick up his friend Maximilian B. after the crime and load the guns into his Audi A4 with him.
Since Maximilian B. knew the code for the front door of the property in Starnberg, he quickly got into the house. But the alleged victim was not alone, his parents were also present. The later victim, Maximilian B., even announced this before his arrival, according to the investigators. When B. entered the house, according to the public prosecutor, he is said to have made the decision to kill his parents too.
The deed happened that night. Previously, the 21-year-old victim and the alleged perpetrator are said to have smoked marijuana together. Then the gunsmith’s apprentice fell asleep, according to the investigation. Maximilian B. is said to have taken advantage of his victim’s defenselessness, put a pistol on his right temple and pulled the trigger. Immediately afterwards he is said to have gone to his parents’ bedroom. When he entered it, his friend’s father is said to have just got up. Maximilian B. allegedly fired several shots without hesitation. The 64-year-old was apparently dead immediately. Then B. is said to have fired several fatal shots at his wife, the 60-year-old was still in her bed. The 21-year-old is said to have even shot the family dog twice. The animal was hit in the neck and head area, but survived.
After the alleged murders, Maximilian B. is said to have fired the last cartridges from his pistol in the house and then placed his weapon in the dead 21-year-old’s right hand in such a way that the impression was created that he had killed himself. The two defendants are said to have calmly loaded the arsenal and ammunition into the car and drove back to Olching.
The investigators discovered the stolen weapons in a depot that Maximilian B. had set up in the attic. The arsenal that B. owned himself also contained a large number of weapons and ammunition.
The public prosecutor’s office had initially only investigated Samuel V for complicity in murder. But now the 20-year-old – like Maximilian B. also – is charged with murder. That Samuel V, who drove his alleged accomplice to the scene and picked him up again, could now be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison, his defense lawyers commented image– Newspaper with the words: “They are not quite tight.”
The court has earmarked a total of 54 days for the proceedings. The judgment is due to be issued on January 11, 2022 – two years to the day after the alleged act.
