The money is gone. Almost three quarters of a million euros. And Jan K. (Name changed) sits in the dock of the 1st Youth Chamber at the Munich I Regional Court and is silent. At the end of July 2022, the then 19-year-old is said to have stolen the amount in a coup in a bank in the Munich district. Not by attacking them – the trained banker was employed at the credit institution. Jan K. is said to have stowed the money in the vault unnoticed in his backpack and then left. The now 21-year-old was on the run for almost six months. At the beginning of February last year, investigators managed to arrest him.
