The football coach Vito L. was considered the ideal coach. But he is said to have abused around 30 children and young people over the years. In order to carry out his “treatments”, he posed as a physiotherapist.
The procedure was always the same, over weeks, months, even years: an appointment with the trainer in cabin 2, strip naked, lie down, he locks the doors and what he calls “treatment” follows. A football coach at a club in the Munich district is said to have sexually abused and sometimes raped young people and children over a period of six years; the prosecution lists almost 1,000 cases. Court spokesman Laurent Lafleur “cannot remember a case of this dimension” in Bavaria. And there is a horrifying suspicion that the man may have also abused children and young people in other clubs during his decades of work as a football coach. But: How could all of this happen?
