Spain is considered the vegetable garden of Europe. For Germany, the country on the Iberian Peninsula is even the most important supplier of fruit and vegetables. According to the Federal Statistical Office, around 1.6 million tons of fruit and 1.3 million tons of vegetables were imported from Spain to Germany in 2022 – including to the wholesale market hall in Munich. This also applies to the company with the catchy name “Fruit and Vegetables BamBam”. The company no longer exists. It is said to have simply served to conceal a much more lucrative business than that of vitamin-rich fruit and vegetables: the trade in marijuana and hashish, on a large scale. A multi-member gang is said to have purchased around 351 kilograms from Spain.
