Trial against highway abseilers: “How absurd that we are sitting here today” – Munich

The second attempt in the trial against four young people who are said to have caused a long traffic jam on the A94 by abseiling has begun at the Ebersberg district court. During the negotiations, the activists promote their cause – and sometimes go overboard.

Rush hour traffic rolled past the Ebersberg district court this Wednesday, like it does every morning – very few people seemed to take any notice of the action that had been taking place there since 7:30 a.m.: Nine people were standing there, including the four accused young climate activists, who said little later had to answer in court for an abseiling operation on the A94. But now they had put up two banners, one of which said “Dishes are for eating” and the other “Cars only go to the museum”. The police were on site with five vehicles, but everything went smoothly.
