The public has avoided Kai K., whom some call a spiritual leader, a being of light or a guru, for many years. But at the start of the trial at the Schweinfurt regional court, before which K. has had to answer since Monday for four cases of rape, three cases of grievous bodily harm and 33 cases of intentional bodily harm, his defense lawyers complained right from the start: there was not enough publicity.
