Franz Wimmer, 62, doesn’t know exactly what all the people find at this roundabout, but he does know: the “Franz Eberhofer roundabout” in his town makes them happy. Wimmer is the second mayor of Frontenhausen, which most people know better as “Niederkaltenkirchen”, where the successful “Eberhofer crime novels” are set. Wimmer gives tours to the most popular filming locations and the roundabout is always the highlight. But everything has been different there since Saturday morning. The 20-year-old lime tree in the middle is gone, felled by unknown people under the cover of night. And whimper? Seems surprisingly composed.
