Travel: Will 2022 be a holiday year? – Business

2022 just has to go well – they all say that, no matter where you ask. In hotels, with restaurant chains, with tour operators and of course with the tourism associations. Despite the war, despite the continued horrendous corona numbers, despite the worryingly rising prices. The tourism industry simply cannot afford a third year of crisis. The pandemic has hit restaurateurs, hotels, travel agencies and event organizers hard. It is only thanks to state bridging aid that many companies have survived the months of closures and travel restrictions; and it will be a long time before the profitable business with business trips and trade fairs recovers – if it ever returns to its old extent. Expectations of Germans’ desire to take vacations are correspondingly high this year.
