Travel: New Orleans, Louisiana is the soul of the South

There are two things that America can’t get rid of from New Orleans: the music. And the story. One turns the streets of the French Quarter into a party mile. And the other, the original sin of the slave trade, hasn’t let go of America to this day. A journey between memory and joie de vivre.

In the evening we were sitting on the balcony of the restaurant “Muriel’s” and had just decided on a Sazerac, the drink from New Orleans, very bourbon-heavy, recommended, when we had doubts. On the way to the balcony we passed an empty table with a glass of red wine on it, refilled every evening for the spirit of the house. Down on the square, people had their hands read, others painted, there was also a magician.
