Travel agencies are worried about the future of the RTI economy

Actually, there is a good mood in the travel agencies right now. Germans want to go on holiday and are happy to receive advice. Only when customers ask about a package tour from the operator FTI can their mood be a little dampened, says Marija Linnhoff, chairwoman of the Association of Independent Travel Agencies (VUSR). Anyone who searches for trips online in advance often ends up with offers from Munich tour operators, as they are often particularly cheap. “Our member offices have stopped selling FTI trips for months or only at the express request of customers because they are afraid of bankruptcy,” says Linnhoff, whose association represents the interests of around 7,000 members, either directly or through partnerships.
