The shooting of the ZDF “Traumschiff” episode for Easter is currently taking place. However, Harald Schmidt as cruise director is not there. ZDF denies that his vaccination status plays a role.

While the “dream ship” for the shooting of the Easter episode has been back at sea for a few days, the absence of Harald Schmidt is causing a stir: he is not currently shooting in Bremerhaven and Emden.

ZDF spokeswoman Susanne Priebe told the “Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland” (RND) about the absence of Harald Schmidt: “(His) role is not planned in the script.” Priebe was unable to answer Harald Schmidt’s possible participation in the upcoming episodes, which are traditionally broadcast at Christmas and New Year’s.

The scripts for this are still in development and the shooting dates have not yet been set. “He can only play if he’s role-played,” she said. However, his current absence on board is not related to his vaccination status. The decision was made last year, Harald Schmidt told the “Bild” newspaper. “We discussed that together in a cuddly group in Bremerhaven in August.”

Only people who are fully vaccinated against the corona virus are allowed on the MS Artania cruise ship. How among other things “RTL” reported on appeal from ZDF, everyone on board must have received the booster vaccination since January. the “Focus” reports, however, that a third vaccination is not necessary according to the ship operator “Phoenix Reisen”. So the current situation with the “Dream Ship” shoot is not entirely clear.

However, one thing is clear: Harald Schmidt had declared last summer that he had not yet been vaccinated. The 64-year-old said in an “NZZ” interview that he was well on the way to fulfilling 2G. “That leaves everything open. I don’t want to say more about it, otherwise there’ll be something on the aluminum hat,” Harald Schmidt continued. When asked by the “Bild” newspaper, he did not want to communicate his vaccination status.

ZDF: Harald Schmidt’s role is not included in the current “Traumschiff” script

Harald Schmidt himself said: “Of course I’m back on board immediately when it’s time to go to warmer regions. South Seas, New Zealand, Singapore. My beloved ZDF knows that it’s too fresh for me in white panties in our latitudes.”

Harald Schmidt was last seen on Boxing Day in the “Traumschiff” episode “Sweden”. The 64-year-old has been part of the crew since 2009 – with interruptions – but can only be seen occasionally in his role as cruise director Oskar Schifferle.
