Heinz Hoenig leaves the jungle camp

He is by far the oldest and most prominent participant in the “RTL Jungle Camp”. Now Heinz Hoenig will leave the reality show on medical advice.
The 72-year-old “Das Boot” star Hoenig, who is one of the first guard of German actors, was by far the oldest and most prominent participant this season. While he had stayed very much in the background in the first few days, Hoenig had recently come out more strongly. For example, he taught his fellow campers “molding” – an acting and speaking exercise.
The camp oldie recently even took part in his first jungle test after moving in, after he had previously been banned for health reasons. During the food test, the 72-year-old, together with the much younger reality celebrities Fabio Knez (30) and Mike Heiter (31), spooned ice cream flavors with fly larvae and pureed mouse tails. In the end it was seven out of nine stars.
Now seven C-celebrities still have the chance to win the jungle crown next Sunday. Ex-footballer David Odonkor (39), “Germany’s Next Top Model” candidate Anya Elsner (20) and fashion designer Sarah Kern (55) were thrown out by the audience. Former racing driver Cora Schumacher (47) left the camp voluntarily.
Hoenig is known, among other things, from major TV multi-part series by director Dieter Wedel such as “The King of St. Pauli” and “The Shadow Man”, but was recently seen again and again in the ZDF cruise series “Das Traumschiff”.
