Just recently, gasoline rose to a record high in the UK. This now also applies to diesel.

Diesel costs more than ever in the UK. The price for a liter of diesel averaged 147.94 pence (just under 1.75 euros) on Sunday, slightly more than the previous record in April 2012, said the car service provider RAC. The price of gasoline had recently risen to a record high.

Fuel prices have been rising for months, and a liter of diesel costs 30 pence more in Great Britain than a year ago. RAC referred to the enormous increase in energy prices around the world, especially oil.

Around 12.5 million diesel drivers as well as companies would feel the consequences. “This will not only have an impact on household costs, but also on the prices we pay for goods and services, as diesel is to a large extent the fuel of the economy and as such will further contribute to inflation,” said RAC expert Simon Williams.

Only recently, according to the ADAC, the diesel price in Germany had risen to a record high.
