According to Sky information, FC Bayern has committed the South Korean defense giant Min-Jae Kim. The central defender therefore signs a long-term contract.

The 26-year-old defender comes from the Italian soccer champions SSC Naples and has signed a five-year contract on the Isar until the summer of 2028, as the pay-TV broadcaster Sky reported on Saturday. Accordingly, Kim, who had an exit clause in his contract, comes for a fixed fee of 50 million euros.

Kim, who was nicknamed “Monster” in Italy because of his 1.90 meter height, is set to replace Frenchman Lucas Hernández, who is traded at Paris Saint-Germain. In the future, he will form the Bavarian central defense together with the Dutchman Matthijs de Ligt.

Munich had massively intensified their efforts for the South Korean in the past few weeks. Since Kim recently completed his military service in his home country, FC Bayern doctors are said to have traveled to Asia to carry out parts of the medical check there. Kim would be the Bundesliga club’s third new signing after Konrad Laimer and Raphael Guerreiro.
