Sadio Mané was Bayern Munich’s dream player. And the national hero of Senegal wanted to go to Munich. According to media reports, Liverpool and the German champions have now reached an agreement.

According to media reports, FC Bayern Munich has reached its goal in the tough million-dollar game involving star striker Sadio Mané from Liverpool FC.

Both clubs agreed on a transfer of the 30-year-old from the Premier League to the Bundesliga, like Sky, the “Bild” and Sport1 reported. The German record champions should therefore pay a transfer fee of 32 million euros plus a maximum of nine million euros in bonus payments for the national football player from Senegal. Mané will therefore receive a three-year contract in Munich. Several media had previously reported that Bayern’s sports director Hasan Salihamidzic had traveled to Liverpool for talks.

A new star striker for the Bundesliga

Mané’s transfer had top priority for the record champions and especially for chief squad planner Salihamidzic. The sports director negotiated for weeks with coach Jürgen Klopp’s top club. According to media reports, Liverpool had rejected the first two Bayern offers for Mané. Now the agreement has been reached.

The execution could now also bring movement to the personnel of Robert Lewandowski (33). The world footballer wants to leave FC Bayern one year before the contract expires. Lewandowski’s dream goal is FC Barcelona. So far, there is still a statement from the Bavarian leadership around CEO Oliver Kahn that they will not let the Poles go this summer.

Lewandowski’s contract in Munich, like Mané’s in Liverpool, expires on June 30, 2023. The Reds initially thought a transfer fee of £42.5m, the equivalent of €49.75m, was reportedly a reasonable sum. Bayern had agreed to work with Mané early on. Liverpool paid the equivalent of almost 40 million euros to Southampton FC in 2016. Before a transfer can be completed, however, the attacker still has to complete the obligatory medical check-up with his new employer.

Darwin Nunez replaces Sadio Mane at Liverpool

Mané is his country’s record goalscorer. He won the Champions League with Liverpool in 2019. In 2020 he became English champion with the team. The club had already signed a replacement for Mané with the €100m transfer of striker Darwin Nuñez from Benfica Lisbon.

Meanwhile, Marc Roca (25) is leaving Bayern: The midfielder is moving to Leeds United in the English Premier League in the summer, where he has signed a four-year contract until June 30, 2026. According to media reports, the Munich team, who paid nine million euros for Roca in autumn 2020, will now receive a fixed payment of twelve million euros and up to five million more in bonus payments.
