“Now I want to take the next step, start a new chapter. I will always look back on my time in Leverkusen with happiness and gratitude,” Diaby was quoted as saying in the Leverkusen press release. The Frenchman switched from Paris Saint-Germain to Leverkusen in 2019 for 15 million euros. Last season, Diaby was involved in 25 competitive goals. In total, he made 173 competitive appearances for the Werkself, scoring 49 goals and providing 48 assists.
