Trams a little less frequent at the start of the school year due to the lack of drivers

We will have to squeeze a little more into Nantes transport this fall. From September and until the end of the year, the frequencies of trams and chronobuses will be “very slightly” lowered, says Semitan. Concretely, travelers should have to wait 30 seconds longer than usual before boarding a tram, and at least a minute longer for chronobuses. Changes that the company hopes will be “painless” on the operation of these lines chosen for their very high frequencies, and dictated by the chronic lack of drivers in Nantes (and elsewhere in France).

Recruitment of 25 employees

It must be said that this fall, Semitan resumed operations two bus lines (69 and 98), hitherto subcontracted, which require 25 full-time employees to drive. Here again, it was a matter of relieving the operator who was also subject to a labor shortage. For this reason, as for several months, a number of bus routes run by service providers will continue to operate on green days until next year.
