Training in the district: crafts are in demand again – Ebersberg

When the new apprenticeship year starts on September 1st, 236 trainees in the Ebersberg district will begin their training in a trade. The District Chamber of Crafts announced this in a press release. A year ago, only 169 new training contracts were registered at the same time. “After two years with corona restrictions, we were finally able to contact young people again at training fairs and school visits,” says district master craftsman Johann Schwaiger. “We need such career orientation measures and internships to convince school leavers of the career opportunities in the approximately 130 training occupations.”

Franz Xaver Peteranderl, President of the Chamber of Crafts for Munich and Upper Bavaria, also emphasizes how important skilled trades are today: “The skilled trades play a key role in the climate change and many other challenges. That is why every signed training contract is a piece of joint future security for our state. ” In view of the turbulent times for the economy and the labor market, the Chamber President recommends playing it safe when choosing a career: “As a rule, young people secure long-term employment with an apprenticeship contract in a regional trade.”

So far this year, most apprenticeship contracts in the trades in the district of Ebersberg have been in the professions of plant mechanic, motor vehicle mechatronics technician and electronics technician. Schwaiger and Peteranderl point out that although the training year officially begins on September 1st, apprenticeship contracts can also be signed later. In addition to the employment agencies, the trade guilds and associations as well as the Chamber of Crafts can help in the search for the right job.
