More than a week after the train accident near Burgrain in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the cause is still unclear. The “Train” special commission is now looking for passengers from the accident train who have not yet had contact with the police. In addition, Soko has set up its own media upload portal, on which witnesses are supposed to upload pictures and videos related to the accident.
Advisory phone set up: Witnesses should report
Soko assumes that not all occupants of the accident train could be reached. Possibly uninjured or only slightly injured people could have left the scene of the accident on their own before their personal details could be recorded, according to the police.
These passengers, who have not yet had any contact with the police, are asked to call the specially set-up telephone number 0800-15 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. 5565101 to report.
Police are looking for owners of abandoned items
According to the police, most of the passengers fled the crashed cars after the accident, leaving their personal belongings such as luggage and documents behind. These items were secured by the criminal police and sorted temporarily, but could not be assigned or returned to all passengers, it is said.
Soko Zug is therefore asking affected train occupants to get in touch so that the items that have been seized can be gradually assigned and returned to the rightful owners.
Police media upload portal is online
The special commission does not rule out the possibility that passengers on the day of the accident, before or after the train derailed, took pictures or videos of the train journey or the situation after the accident with their own smartphones or tablets. The police hopes that such recordings will provide clues or clues for the investigation. Owners of photo or video recordings that were made before the train departed, during the journey up to the accident or after the derailment at the scene of the accident are therefore asked to make their recordings available to the investigators.

34-year-old still in mortal danger
The train derailed on Friday, June 3, 2022, in the Burgrain district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen for reasons that were previously unknown.
Five people were killed, 16 were seriously injured and 52 were slightly injured. A 34-year-old woman remains in critical condition.
