Trafficking in French bulldogs dismantled, two people arrested

They are accused of trafficking in pedigree dogs. A Romanian couple living in Plabennec (Finistère) was arrested at the beginning of the week by the gendarmes, reports The Telegram. The investigation started last year after the discovery during a roadside check of French bulldogs in the trunk of a car coming from abroad.

The investigations finally made it possible to identify two individuals implicated in this traffic. During searches carried out on Monday, thirteen French bulldogs, twelve puppies and two breeding females were seized from their home which was also used as an illegal breeding, precise West France. In total, the investigators accuse them of having sold 70 dogs under the coat in three years.

Also prosecuted for having concealed 150,000 euros of income and for having defrauded the Urssaf, the man and his companion will soon be tried before the judicial court of Brest. The 27 dogs found at their home, all in good health, were entrusted to the SPA.
