Traffic “slightly disturbed” on Saturday, around twenty TGVs removed out of 650

Rail traffic will be “slightly disrupted” on Saturday, announces the SNCF, due to the signalmen’s strike and more local movements. In total, around twenty TGVs will be removed, out of the 650 which were to run during the day. The impact will mainly concern the TGV Atlantique (nearly 9 out of ten trains operated, including two out of three on the Paris-South-West links). “Normal or near-normal service” will be provided on the rest of the high-speed lines.

On the Intercités side, traffic will be “almost normal”, with however the abolition of the Paris-Rodez-Albi night train. For the Transilien and the TER, certain lines and certain regions will be “susceptible to disruption”, indicates the SNCF, adding that the transport plans will be detailed on Friday before 5 p.m.

In general, SNCF Voyageurs recommends that its customers “check the train timetables before going to the station and when possible to cancel their journeys”. Traffic forecasts for Sunday are expected to be released on Friday. SNCF signalmen operate the network: without them, the trains cannot run. With this strike called by Sud-Rail, they are asking for better recognition of their profession and an improvement in their working conditions.
