The driver’s license expired two years ago and the car is no longer insured. Nevertheless, a sprightly pensioner is driving through a small town in northern Italy at night.

Without a driving license, without insurance, but a proud 103 years old: In Italy she has Police stopped one of the oldest traffic offenders of all time. The pensioner, born in 1920, was driving her car in the center of the small northern Italian town of Bondeno in the middle of the night, the authorities announced on Tuesday. She was noticed because around 1 a.m. she drove quickly, but repeatedly through the same streets.

During the check, a police patrol discovered that the driver’s license had expired for two years. In addition, the old lady no longer had insurance for her car. The vehicle was then impounded and taken away by a tow truck. The woman herself was taken home by the police. According to her own account, she had set out to visit friends outside. Bondeno is located in the Emilia-Romagna region and has around 15,000 inhabitants.
