In London or Stockholm, city tolls have long been part of everyday life. Now it will also be introduced in Manhattan.

We now also want to go to metropolises like London or Stockholm New York is the first city in the USA to have a city toll. Starting in mid-June, most cars will be charged a $15 daytime fee to enter a zone that, with a few exceptions, covers the entire southern part of Manhattan up to 60th Street, the New Yorker said MTA transportation authority. The MTA board previously approved the plan, which has been in development for many years.

The MTA called it a “historic day”: “This program will reduce traffic in New York’s economic hub, reduce pollution and provide critical funding for transportation infrastructure improvements.” However, there are currently numerous lawsuits from politicians and residents against the program.
