SPD chancellor candidate Olaf Scholz is said to be brittle, Hanseatic taciturn, an inspector down to the last detail. That he can inspire fantasies was not part of it. In this respect, it is a surprise that Christian Lindner has now certified exactly that. The FDP leader, who until recently had close ties with Scholz as the best enemy, admitted after the explorations that he had developed the imagination of a traffic light, the imagination of government partners “at eye level”. Lindner has thus provoked the question of how strong a chancellor can be in such a government.
