Traffic control: Priest allows himself to be chauffeured by a stoned driver – Bavaria

Police officers encountered an unusual duo during a traffic stop in Lower Bavaria: On the A 3 near Windorf (Passau district), officers stopped a driver who was visibly under the influence of drugs on Wednesday, a police spokesman announced on Thursday. In the passenger seat was a 69-year-old priest who stated that he had a driver’s license but did not want to drive because he rarely sat behind the wheel and never used a motorway.

He therefore organized his 31-year-old acquaintance to act as a “chauffeur” for a trip to Bavaria, who would now take him back home. The priest did not want to notice that the driver was visibly under the influence of drugs.

According to police, the 31-year-old admitted marijuana use. He had to go to a police station to have a blood sample taken and was reported for violating the traffic law. The priest then sat behind the wheel of the car for the journey back to their Austrian homeland.
