Some children can’t wait any longer – or want to play it safe. Santa Claus in Himmelpfort gets a lot to do again this year.

Already a few months before Christmas, Santa Claus will reach you in Brandenburg Heaven’s gate numerous wishes. “In the first few months of 2023, around 2,800 letters addressed to the Christmas post office in Himmelpfort have already arrived,” said a spokeswoman for the post office. Last year there were a total of 310,000 wish lists in Himmelpfort.

According to its own statements, Deutsche Post is planning to open a so-called Christmas post office in Himmelpfort in mid-November 2023. It is one of a total of seven Christmas post offices in Germany.

According to a spokeswoman for the DHL Group, the oldest Christmas post office in Germany is in Himmelpforten, Lower Saxony. According to this, a little girl wrote a letter to Santa Claus in 1962, which ended up in the post office in Himmelpforten. The girl received a handwritten reply from the post office manager at the time.
