The water in the lake is quite cold, we’re talking about 7 degrees. However, the temperature deterred 15 men and 5 women from taking a swim in Lake Constance.

At the traditional Santa Claus swim in Lindau on Lake Constance, 20 brave people dared to enter the 7 degree cold water on Saturday. Around midday, the 15 men and 5 women plunged into the Lindau harbor basin and swam around 800 meters long, as Thomas Freitag, chairman of the Lindau water rescue service, said. Two swimmers even went into the lake without a wetsuit.

Several hundred onlookers came to the Lindau harbor to watch the spectacle. After the swimming session, the women and men were given goulash and hot punch to fortify themselves. The Santa Claus swim in According to the water rescue service, Lindau has been taking place for more than 30 years.
