Track bike sprinter Emma Hinze reaches for her next gold medal at the World Championships in Glasgow. The seven-time world champion set the fastest time over 500 meters in qualifying with 32.850 seconds.

Lea Sophie Friedrich was clocked fourth in 33.336 seconds and is also within range of a podium finish, as is teammate Pauline Grabosch (33.371) in fifth. The final of the best eight will be held on Friday evening. On Thursday, Hinze, Friedrich and Grabosch started the track competitions with gold in the team sprint.

The German women’s foursome, who drove to Olympic gold in a world record time two years ago in Tokyo, experienced a disappointment. Franziska Brausse, Lisa Klein, Mieke Kröger and Laura üßmilch only set the sixth best time of 4:15.035 minutes in the 4000m team pursuit. This means that in the next round on Saturday, entry into the small final is at most possible. The gap to the first placed four of the Brits was 4.7 seconds.
