One day after winning the European Championship title in the 4000m team pursuit, Lisa Brennauer and Mieke Kröger will contest the final in the individual pursuit on Saturday evening. 34-year-old defending champion Brennauer, who will retire after the European Championships, set the fastest qualifying time of 3:21.138 minutes in the morning. In the final she meets Kröger, third in the European Championship, who was second best in the elimination with 3:23.569 minutes.

The team sprint European champions Emma Hinze and Pauline Grabosch also have good prospects of another medal in the 500 meter time trial. Hinze from Cottbus drove by far the best time in qualifying and was the only one of the 16 starters to stay under the 33-second mark with 32.732 seconds. Chemnitz-born Grabosch reached the final on Saturday evening with a time of 33.544 seconds as fourth best.

At the start of the track cycling competitions at the Munich Exhibition Center, the women’s foursome with Brennauer and Kröger as well as Franziska Brauße (Öschelbronn) and Lisa Klein (Erfurt) won the title, as did the sprint trio Hinze, Grabosch and Lea Sophie Friedrich (Cottbus). .
