Things are going well for the German teams so far at the Beach World Cup in Tlaxcala, Mexico. Müller/Tillmann and Ittlinger/Borger also make it to the knockout round.

The German champions Svenja Müller and Cinja Tillman from Hamburg as well as Sandra Ittlinger and Karla Borger also made it into the knockout round at the Beach Volleyball World Cup.

Both duos took their second win in the third group game. The Stuttgart women Ittlinger/Borger won clearly against the Mexican outsiders Katherine Albarran and Yamilet Vidaurrazaga 21:12 and 21:7. As expected, Müller/Tillmann, the third-place finishers at the 2022 World Cup in Rome, had a lot more trouble with the Brazilians Taina Silva/Victoria Lopes and won after three sets (21:15, 22:24, 15:12).

Ehlers/Wickler continued without losing a set

The other two German teams had previously qualified for the next round at the title fights in Tlaxcala. Nils Ehlers and Clemens Wickler even managed this without losing a set. The only German men’s team in the competition defeated the Americans Chaim Schalk/Tri Bourne 22:20, 21:16 in their third preliminary round game.

The previously unbeaten Laura Ludwig and Louisa Lippmann – like Ehlers/Wickler from Hamburg – suffered their first defeat against Carolina Solberg/Barbara Seixas from Brazil at 19:21, 16:21. At the championship, which took place at an altitude of around 2,400 meters, the European Championship third-place finishers Ludwig/Lippmann had already reached the round of the best 32 teams and were able to afford defeat.
