Tourette in sport: golfing with the clown in mind – sport

For years, Robin Smiciklas has hidden his Tourette’s disease – the uncontrollable movements on the pitch it suppresses. Now he allows the tics, strives for the top of the world and asks himself: Can you even benefit from Tourette?

And then all of a sudden Robin starts kicking his older brother Selmar. The family is on the autobahn, on a skiing holiday in Austria. Robin, eight years old, was previously considered a peaceful boy. His brother protests, of course: Mom! Robin kicks me! The mother, sitting behind the wheel, orders the child to stop pedaling immediately. But now Robin’s arm is swinging in the direction of his brother.
