Concern for Madonna: The singer was in intensive care for days and has to put her big “Celebration” world tour on hold for now.

US pop star Madonna spent several days in intensive care with a severe bacterial infection and now has to postpone her world tour. This was announced by the manager of the 64-year-old on Wednesday.

The tour was supposed to start on July 15 in Vancouver, Canada. Then Madonna wanted to tour across the US and come to Europe in the fall, including Cologne on November 15th and 16th and Berlin on November 28th and 29th.

Full recovery expected

In a statement, manager Guy Oseary said Madonna is now on the mend but is still receiving medical attention. A full recovery is expected. According to him, the pop star developed a serious bacterial infection on June 24, which led to “a stay in intensive care for several days”.

Earlier this year, Madonna announced a world tour. It includes more than 80 concert dates. “We’ll let you know more details as soon as we have them, including a new tour start date and for rescheduled shows,” the manager wrote.

The American gossip site “pagesix.com” wrote without further citing the source that Madonna was found unconscious in her New York apartment. She was intubated in a New York hospital for at least one night, daughter Lourdes Leon (26) had not left her mother’s side in the past few days.
