INEOS Grenadiers had four leaders today: in addition toAdam Yatesof Daniel Martinez and of Geraint Thomasshe wanted to play for the win of the sixth stage of the Tour de France with his puncher Tom Pidcock. Finally, the cyclo-crossman sprinted to finish 4th, only beaten by Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates), Michael Matthews (BikeExchange-Jayco) and david gaudu (Groupama FDJ). Wout Van Aert (Jumbo-Visma), who spent the whole day at the front, lost his yellow jersey in favor of Pogacar. As for Tom Pidcockhe spoke about his day after the finish.

“Pogacar was better”
“The legs were good in the last kilometers, but I tried to take the breakaway this morning and it wasn’t that good, I couldn’t take the right shot”analyzed the 22-year-old Briton. “Afterwards I improved during the stage. Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) surprised me a bit because he left early. I had a good sprint but I missed the mark, and then Pogacar was better. Van Aert, he’s a little crazy, I don’t really know what to say about him, it’s rare to see that”.
