Tour de France: “It remains exceptional” underlines Tadej Pogacar

Tadej Pogacar (SLO / UAE), 2nd overall : “Winning the white jersey was obviously not the objective. But in the end, I’m very happy with the way this Tour de France went: I’m very proud of being number 2 and of my stage victories. We all dream, when we are children, of one day being on the Tour de France, of becoming a professional cyclist. The simple fact of participating in the Tour is already incredible, especially when you come from a country like Slovenia. So finishing second is still exceptional. »

Bob Jungels (LUX / AG2R-Citroën), 12th overall : “I’m happy to have finished this Tour de France, without illness and without problems, and to be twelfth in the general classification with a stage victory at stake. It was a Tour de France without downtime, without a moment of respite. You didn’t have to break down and fight. I will remember the Châtel stage and this important success after everything I had been through. A year ago, I commented on the last time trial on Radio Télé Luxembourg, a few days after having been operated on. Being here is fun. It’s a relief and it’s a sign that you always have to believe in yourself. »
